Introduction for Financial Aid Officers
Thank you for visiting the Student Loan Network and our network of websites. Student Loan Network is one of the nation's fastest growing providers of student loans and education information. Since 1998, we have connected over 25 million students and parents with more than $1 billion in federal student loans, private student loans, college scholarships, and student loan consolidation.
In addition to loan products, we are proud to offer a full range of helpful, free resources to help make the financial aid process easier for students and their families. An example is our two free eBooks: One provides tips and tricks for finding and applying for college scholarships while the other helps students complete the FAFSA application. Feel free to download and read over these useful documents. You are also welcome to add links to either one (or both) on the financial aid section of your school's website.

Financial Aid Podcast Live: How to pay for college in uncertain times
How will students pay for college in uncertain times? On April 9, the Student Loan Network hosted a live Round Table Conference with financial aid experts to answer that question and many more. Some tips for students and their families to help with paying for college are:
- Be diligent about searching for scholarships.
- Work now to secure the funds you need for next year.
- Start with Scholarships, Grants and Federal Loans before seeking alternate student loans.
- Borrow responsibly, and don't borrow more than you can pay back.
- Work with your financial aid officers, they can often help if you just meet with them face-to-face.
- If you are falling short of the funds needed, consider community colleges and State colleges, which offer wonderful programs at a fraction of the cost of private school.
For more tips and tricks, listen to the entire program.
